NYX Skin Tone Eyeshadow Base Review and Swatches

"Maximize the intensity, longevity and brilliance of your eye shadow with our eye shadow primer pots. Each of the three NYX Eye Shadow Bases—white for vibrant, pearl for shimmers, or neutral for darker shades—creates a smooth canvas for color, increases its durability and prevents powder fallout."

I want to point out that these are not primers, they are bases.  NYX calls these "eye shadow primer pots", which can be confusing, but it's obvious when you actually use them (especially if you have oily lids) that they aren't really primers.  As long as you use a proper amount on your lid, there shouldn't be any creasing.

I also want to say I'm not thrilled that it's called Skin Tone.  I'm not trying to bring race too much into this (no drama for me!)  but it's a simple fact that not everyone has this skin color or tone.
In the above description from the website, it does call it "neutral."

They are quite tacky, so they hold the shadow on nicely for a good amount of time.
In fact, these have a texture almost exactly like the Jumbo Eye Pencils, I thought maybe they had the same ingredients, but they don't.

Pros
Doesn't crease
Makes shadows look brighter and last longer
Nice neutral color
Lasts for a good amount of time

Cons
Not many colors, but NYX also has the Jumbo Eye Pencils that work great as bases
May crease on very oily lids

Overall
8/10
